About the Canadian Vaping Association

The Canadian Vaping Association is a registered national, not-for-profit organization, established as the voice for the burgeoning Canadian vaping industry. Founded in 2014, the CVA represents over 200 retail and online vaping businesses in Canada, not including tobacco companies or affiliates.

The association is the primary liaison with the federal and provincial governments on all legislative and regulatory issues related to the industry. The primary goal of CVA is to ensure that government regulation is reasonable and practical, through the strategy of professional proactive communication and education supplied bilingually to health officers, media, and elected officials.

Our Commitment to a Strong Industry

Our Mission is to ensure access to vapour products by advocating on behalf of the CVA’s membership and the open vapour industry. We do not advocate for the interests of Big Tobacco or convenience stores.

We have taken a data driven approach to advocacy and advocate using the science available to ensure the survival of the open vapour industry. Through this approach the CVA has achieved some of the most equitable regulations in the world. By focusing on the science, we have been successful in working with government to create the only legally defined specialty vape shop designation in the world.

The CVA remains committed to working with Health Canada and regional health authorities to achieve balanced and effective regulations, which protect youth while maintaining reasonable access to vapour products. Vapour products are a harm reduction tool and must be available to adult smokers.
